The Keoladeo National Park in Bharatpur, is a famous avifauna sanctuary that plays host to thousands of birds, especially during the winter season. The 29 km2 reserve, locally known as Ghana, is a mosaic of dry grasslands, woodlands, woodland swamps, and wetlands. These diverse habitats are home to 366 bird species, 379 floral species, 50 species of fish, 13 species of snakes, 5 species of lizards, 7 amphibians and 7 turtle species, and a variety of other invertebrates.  National Chambal Sanctuary is a 5400 km2 protected area on the Chambal river, near the tri point of Rajasthan, MP & UP. The critically endangered Gharial, Red- crowned roof turtle and Ganges river dolphin are the keystone species found here. It is also an excellent place for sighting the vulnerable Indian skimmer.
