Trek to Futtasaur- Mountains of lake 3rd to 8th October, 2018

According to the folklore, Futta Saur is the lake where the all-powerful and revered Jamdagni Rishi (form the famed house of Malana) performed his bathing ritual or some auspicious ceremonies. It was almost 30 years ago that ‘Jamdagni Rishi’ last visited the Holy Futta Saur. There has been no recorded visit post that. The trek starts from the ancient village of Soil from where the trail will lead on to thick alpine forest with some rare flora and fauna. After a comfortable trek of about four hours, we will reach an open meadow like ground by the name of Mindua. This will be where we will camp the first night. This is also the “Lair” for the local gaddi sahib, Shri. Chetram ji A.K.A Chetu Phuaal (Phuaal meaning Gaddi). Hence, the name. This entire terrain is so rich in composition of medicinal and exotic herbs that the air you breathe in is rich enough to get some people light headed.

The air is heavily laden with unadulterated oxygen and there is only so much you can do to keep your excitement in check. For those who may need a bit of motivation to keep walking, the sights and sounds and textures of Himalaya will prove to be a fuel enough. We will camp for the night in Parkuni.
