About

Har ki Dun Trek is by far the most complete trek that you will get.  The trek is mixture of ancient culture and the best mountain views. The Har ki Dun valley has almost everything to offer – meadows, grasslands, mountain views, forests, rivers and streams. Trekkers get mesmerized by the sheer beauty of Swargarohini peak range in the backdrop of Har ki Dun Valley.

Itinerary

Day 1: Dehradun – Sankri [Drive – 210 km, 8/9 hours]

Early morning, start our journey to Sankri.(arrive one day prior to get a much needed rest and early departure for Sankri) During the journey we pass through the Yamuna and Tons valleys across the Yamuna bridge, Nainbagh, Nowgaon, Purola, Jarmola (one of the biggest and most beautiful pine forests in Asia), Mori and Netwar. Trek to a tiny market in Sankri where few wooden huts serve simple yet delicious food. Dinner and overnight stay at the homestay.

Day 2: Sankri – Chilurgad [Drive – 11km, Trek – 12km (6 hours) (8280ft)]

Post breakfast, board the vehicles and move towards Taluka. From here actual trek starts. Hoist your backpacks and start first leg of our trek. Pass numerous Himalayan villages like Osla and walk through patches of orchids and reach Chilurgad. Overnight in tents.

Day 3: Chilurgad – Simatra [11km, 7 hours (10500ft)]

Post breakfast, start trekking on the trail. We gain considerable altitude today but the trek is a mix of ascents and level walks. We reach Simatra by cossing forest of deodhar and pine. Reach Chilurgad and set up camp for the night. Overnight in tents.

Day 4: Simatra – Har ki Dun – Simatra/Seema [12km, 8 hours (11880ft)]

Today is the day when we visit the Har ki Dun Valley. We start a bit early today so that we can enjoy the valley views to the fullest. At Har-ki-Dun, one can see the vast grounds below Swaragrohini-1 peak. The meadows here are full of alpine flowers. You can explore the entire ground in about an hour or two. Return to Simatra. Overnight in tents.

Day 5: Simatra/Seema – Chilurgad [12km, 6 hours]

Begin our return trek. Post breakfast start descending towards Chilurgad via Osla. Camp at the same spot today where we stopped while climbing. Overnight at Chilurgad.

Day 6: Chilurgad – Taluka – Sankri [Trek – 12km, Drive – 11km (6 hours)]

Post breakfast descend further towards Taluka. Board vehicle to Sankri. Trek ends. Rest at our homestay for the night.

Day 7: Sankri – Dehradun [Drive – 210 km, 8/9 hours]

Post breakfast, depart for Dehradun.
