About
Together with a surrounding buffer zone of 1,067 km2 (412 sq mi) and the neighboring 110 km2 (42 sq mi) Phen Sanctuary, Kanha Tiger Reserve is one of the biggest in the country. Kanha is one the best managed tiger reserve in our country. The park has a vast expanse of grassland and forest cover.
Kanha is a wildlife paradise hosting big cats like leopard and tiger and ferocious predators like wild dogs and jackals. It also has good population of birds and is a photographer’s dream land. It is an ideal home for Barasingha and the countless species of plants, birds, reptiles and insects.
This reserve has fascinated many travelers around the corners of the world with its well-developed infrastructure specially meant for them.
This students’ special departure gives children a unique experience and helps them understand the importance of ecosystems. Along with enjoyment children are educated about nature and conservation through various activities. Children also experience the culture and lifestyle of local Baiga tribes and understand their unique ancestral practices of conservation.
Itinerary
Day 1: Pune – Nagpur
Report at Pune Railway Sation at 1:30pm. Depart for Nagpur by Ajni Express at 03:15pm. Overnight in train. [L]
Day 2: Nagpur – Kanha
Arrive at Nagpur Railway station at 04:50 am. Depart for Kanha in our AC vehicle (6 hours). Have breakfast enroute. Check in at hotel and freshen up. Have lunch and rest. Assemble for an orientation session in the evening. Overnight at hotel. [L, D]
Day 3: Kanha
Go for a morning safari in the park. Return to resort. Post lunch go for a unique experience with the local Baiga tribes. Explore their culture and understand the interdependence between the forest and their lifestyle. Overnight at hotel. [B, L, D]
Day 4: Kanha
Go for morning and evening safaris in the park. Overnight at hotel. [B, L, D]
Day 5: Kanha – Nagpur – Pune
Today we will go for walking nature trail in the buffer zone of the park. Explore all unique aspect of the forests (flora and fauna) Return to resort for breakfast. Freshen and check out. Post lunch check out and transfer to Nagpur. (6 hours by road). Reach Nagpur Railway station and board our train at 07:50pm. Overnight in train. [B, L, D]
Day 6: Pune
Arrive at Pune Railway Station at 11:25 am. Tour ends.
