Panna Wildlife Tour
About
Panna National Park is a national park located in Panna and Chhatarpur districts of Madhya Pradesh. It has an area of 542.67 km2. It was declared in 1994 as the twenty second Tiger reserve of India and the fifth in Madhya Pradesh, Panna was given the Award of Excellence in 2007 as the best maintained national park of India by the Ministry of Tourism of India. It is notable that by 2009, the entire tiger population had been eliminated by poaching with the collusion of forest department officials. It was designated as Biosphere Reserve on 25 August 2011.
Among the animals found here are the tiger, leopard, chital, chinkara, nilgai, sambhar and sloth bear. The park is home to more than 200 species of birds including the honey buzzard, plum-headed parakeet, crested hawk-eagle, crested serpent eagle and Indian vulture.
Itinerary
Day 1: Satna – Panna (100 km | 2.30 hrs approx.)
Arrive in Satna and proceed towards Panna. Have breakfast enroute. Check in at resort. Freshen up. Post lunch, leave for evening safari in the park. Return to resort. Overnight in Panna. (B, L, D)
Day 2: Panna
Early morning go for safari in the park. Return to resort for breakfast. Freshen up and have lunch. Post lunch, go for evening safari in the park. Overnight in Panna. (B, L, D)
Day 3: Panna
Early morning go for a safari in the Park. Return to resort for breakfast. Freshen up and post lunch go for evening safari in the park. Overnight in Panna. (B, L, D)
Day 4: Panna – Jhansi (210 km | 4 hrs approx.)
Post breakfast experience a unique walking trail in the forest with local Pardhi tribes. Experience the local way of living and gain insightful information from the age old knowledge of Pardhi Community. Post lunch leave for Jhansi. Enroute visit Khajuraho Temples – A UNESCO World Heritage Site. Drop off at Jhansi railway station. Tour Ends. (B, L)
